Lately, I’ve had several people ask me about cremation jewellery – delicate pieces designed to hold the ashes of a loved one. While not everyone is familiar with these, many people can relate to keeping ashes in an urn at home as a way to honour and stay connected to those who have passed. Every culture, family, and individual has unique beliefs and traditions around this, and it is not my place to challenge them. Instead, I invite you to consider the energy that ashes may still carry and how they interact with your own.
Although cremation is a process of transformation, the emotional and energetic imprints surrounding a person’s passing remain. The circumstances of their death – whether illness, pain, fear, sadness, or unresolved emotions -do not simply disappear with the flames. While the ashes have been through fire, you, as the one who carries them, may still be holding onto the emotional weight they contain.
In my one-on-one healing sessions, I have occasionally been drawn to a client’s necklace without knowing it contained ashes. My hands have instinctively stopped at the pendant, sensing that the energy surrounding it carried emotions or imprints that weren’t in full harmony with the wearer’s well-being. In such cases, I have performed a cleansing on the jewellery, clearing any residual energy that may not serve them. A karakia is spoken, and blessings are offered before it is worn again. Clients often share that after this process, their jewellery feels lighter, warmer, and more at peace with them. They describe a sense of relief, as though something has shifted, and that wearing the piece finally feels ‘right.’
If you carry cremation jewellery or have an urn at home, I encourage you to reflect on how it feels—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Does it bring comfort, or does it hold something heavier? If you sense that something needs to shift, I offer energy healing to cleanse and realign these precious pieces, ensuring they truly honour both your loved one and your own well-being. If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out—I would love to assist you on your journey toward healing and peace.
