The Art of Healing

Struggling to Meditate? Why Channelling Might Be a Better Fit for You

Let me guess – you’ve tried to meditate, and it just didn’t quite land. You sit down, close your eyes, and suddenly your mind starts bouncing all over the place. Your to-do list shows up. That awkward conversation from three days ago? And before you know it, you’re thinking about what to have for dinner.

I hear this all the time – “I can’t meditate. I can’t switch my brain off.” If that’s you, please know this: you’re not alone, and you’re not necessarily doing it wrong. Meditation is a beautiful practice, but for many people, especially those with busy minds or emotional turbulence, it can feel frustrating and even disheartening. The pressure to be perfectly still and silent can sometimes create even more noise!

That’s where channelling can come in.

What if instead of quieting the mind, you gave it something higher to tune into?

Channelling is a different kind of practice – one that invites you to open up and receive rather than just observe or empty-out. Instead of trying to silence your thoughts, channelling shifts your focus to “connection”. You’re allowing energy, guidance, and wisdom to flow through you, and rather than turning inward – you turn towards an external higher consciousness. From this place there isn’t much room for the monkey mind to chat away.

It can feel lighter, more creative, more aligned.

My Daily Practice

Every day, I make an appointment with myself and with my team of light. It’s a sacred little window of time where I tune in and connect. I start with meditation, simply becomming aware of my body and my mind, I don’t force silence. I just listen.

Then I set an intention to open to the light. I allow myself to slip into a channeled state, where I receive healing energy, guidance, or messages from higher consciousness. In my mind’s eye, I often visualise white light flowing into my hands, heart, and head. I surrender, and let it move through me.

I believe that your body does not contain the soul, but rather the body is contained within the soul. Channelling feels like coming home to myself – and beyond myself.

Channelling has become part of everything I do. It weaves into my energy healing work, it flows through me when I speak light language, and it guides me when I create my artwork. It’s not about being special or chosen. It’s simply about being open.

Why Channeling Might Work Better for You

If you’ve struggled with meditation, it might be because your mind isn’t wired for stillness – but it is wired for connection.

Channelling gives your awareness something to reach for. It allows movement – energy flowing in and out. You don’t need to be silent, you just need to be present and willing. You can set an intention, ask for healing, or guidance, or clarity on as aspect of yourself or your life. You might feel sensations, receive answers, or simply feel more peaceful and clear. Pay attention to images, symbols and colours that you receive in your minds eye.

It’s not about doing it “right.” It’s about showing up and allowing something greater to meet you there.

If this speaks to you, maybe it’s time to shift the way you think about meditation. You don’t have to force yourself into silence. Try meeting yourself – and the light around you – in a different way. Remember, if quieting the mind feels like a challenge, you’re definitely not alone. Many people struggle with traditional meditation – but that doesn’t have to mean you’re doing it wrong. It just means you might need a new approach.

Whether you’re drawn to meditation or channeling (or a mix of both), I recommend keeping it simple: instead of a long session, try shorter sessions, practiced more often. Even just 10 minutes a session or moments of intentional stillness or connection can shift your energy and mindset in powerful ways.

The Energy We Hold: A Deeper Look at Cremation, Ashes & Urns

Lately, I’ve had several people ask me about cremation jewellery – delicate pieces designed to hold the ashes of a loved one. While not everyone is familiar with these, many people can relate to keeping ashes in an urn at home as a way to honour and stay connected to those who have passed. Every culture, family, and individual has unique beliefs and traditions around this, and it is not my place to challenge them. Instead, I invite you to consider the energy that ashes may still carry and how they interact with your own.

Although cremation is a process of transformation, the emotional and energetic imprints surrounding a person’s passing remain. The circumstances of their death – whether illness, pain, fear, sadness, or unresolved emotions -do not simply disappear with the flames. While the ashes have been through fire, you, as the one who carries them, may still be holding onto the emotional weight they contain.

In my one-on-one healing sessions, I have occasionally been drawn to a client’s necklace without knowing it contained ashes. My hands have instinctively stopped at the pendant, sensing that the energy surrounding it carried emotions or imprints that weren’t in full harmony with the wearer’s well-being. In such cases, I have performed a cleansing on the jewellery, clearing any residual energy that may not serve them. A karakia is spoken, and blessings are offered before it is worn again. Clients often share that after this process, their jewellery feels lighter, warmer, and more at peace with them. They describe a sense of relief, as though something has shifted, and that wearing the piece finally feels ‘right.’

If you carry cremation jewellery or have an urn at home, I encourage you to reflect on how it feels—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Does it bring comfort, or does it hold something heavier? If you sense that something needs to shift, I offer energy healing to cleanse and realign these precious pieces, ensuring they truly honour both your loved one and your own well-being. If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out—I would love to assist you on your journey toward healing and peace.

Transforming Fear into Power: My Journey to Hosting a Sacred Healing Circle

Kia ora whanau,

Reflecting on the journey toward hosting my first Sacred Healing Circle, and I’ve been reminded once again of the intricate dance between vulnerability and strength. Despite being accustomed to public speaking, and having hosted numerous group workshops in other areas, stepping into the realm of group energy healing felt deeply personal to me and required a different kind of courage.

In the week leading up to my gathering, I expected to feel reassured by the event filling quickly with a waiting list of eager souls wanting to join us. But instead, familiar insecurities and fears began to surface: impostor syndrome, the fear of not being enough, memories from my childhood of longing to fit in, and there was the inner conflict of wanting to “prepare” and rehearse for an occasion which called for me to simply “flow”.

Then there was the internal battle of authenticity, with conflicting fears of appearing too spiritual or not spiritual enough, too Māori or not Māori enough. I worried about how I would be perceived and accepted by others.

Perhaps the weight of past life wounds added another layer of complexity. The irrational fear of being judged and persecuted for my spiritual beliefs, being “burned” once again lingered in the background. A reminder of the courage required to step into this space. I found myself repeating the words, “I am safe… I’m not going to die this time,” with a touch of humor to lighten the heaviness.

To navigate through these swirling emotions, I turned to my creativity as a lifeline. I poured my energy into crafting a ceremonial talking stick (or Spirit Stick). I infused it with the intention to unlock the throat chakra, allowing words to flow freely and dissolving the barriers of self-consciousness. Little did I know its impact would extend far beyond myself, becoming a vessel for truth and authenticity within The Circle.

Despite this processing, I still grappled with the fear of being seen in all my light. I felt exposed and vulnerable. During this time, my husband and soulmate was my rock. I would shed tears as I dug deep and gave myself space to feel everything, listening to the messages my body, heart, and soul were conveying. Leaning into the discomfort and speaking into it all, a soul sister and fellow healer also became a witness to my journey, reminding me of my power. Many healers have stood where I am now.

As I awoke on the morning of the event, a sense of calm washed over me. I had surrendered control, and felt at peace not knowing how it would all unfold. I trusted that I was being guided and held in this sacred process.

Prior to people arriving, nerves danced within me. Stepping into meditation, I called upon my team of light, and ancestors for guidance. In that moment, I felt their presence, a profound sense of connection and support. Their hands gently placed upon my chest filled me with a sense of calm, knowing, and purpose.

As the day unfolded, everything fell into place effortlessly. I stood in my power, embracing all facets of my being, and I was met with love and acceptance. I became a powerful channel for healing, and holding space for everyone there.

As the talking stick made its rounds within the circle, I witnessed the transformative power it offered to each person who held it. It became a conduit for truth, a beacon of authenticity in a space where vulnerability was not only welcomed but celebrated. This paved the way for a truly beautiful and transformative experience not just for the attendees but also for myself.

Leaning into discomfort and vulnerability is essential. It’s through consciously allowing the whirlwind of emotions to pass through us, without dwelling there for too long, that we find our true strength. By looking in the mirror, and moving through these feelings, we can accept all facets of ourselves. This journey of self-acceptance and courage is what ultimately allows us to stand in our light and share it with the world.

Love your light,

Kylie Fleur

Home Detox: 5 Things to Remove for a Healthier Living Environment

Your home should be your sanctuary, a place of solace and rejuvenation. But did you know that certain items within your living space could be harboring negative energy, affecting your well-being without you even realising it? Here are five things you should consider letting go of to create a more harmonious and healthy home environment:

1. Medications:

Take a moment to reflect on where you keep your medications. Are they scattered around the kitchen or hiding in plain sight on your counter-tops? While it might seem convenient to store them in the heart of your home, this could inadvertently act as a constant reminder of sickness and create an atmosphere of unease. Instead, if you take medications, opt for a designated drawer or cabinet to keep your medications out of sight but easily accessible. You can even add a friendly reminder, like a smiley face on your fridge or mirror, to help you stay on track, and start aligning yourself with the energy of health and wellness.

2. Sick Plants:

Plants are more than just decorative accents; they contribute to the overall energy and vibe of your home. If you have a plant at the entrance of your home, or within your home, that’s struggling to survive or, worse, already wilted away, it’s time to bid it farewell. Sick plants can symbolize stagnation and negativity, hindering your journey towards health and prosperity. Remember that your home is an external expression of what is happening on the inside, so replace them with vibrant, thriving greenery to invite positivity and vitality into your space.

3. Worn-Out Shoes:

Your shoes are more than just footwear— Shoes support your feet which are associated with your root chakra. They represent your journey, and connection with the world around you. Wearing shoes that are not your vibe, that are worn-out, uncomfortable or smelly can impede your progress in life and leave you feeling stuck. Take the time to invest in a new pair that not only supports your feet but also aligns with your personal style and energy. By stepping into fresh, comfortable shoes each day, will help you to move forward in life positively and manifest greater success and abundance.

4. Artworks that Don’t Spark Joy:

Art has the power to uplift and inspire, but not all pieces are conducive to a harmonious living environment. If you have artworks that evoke negative emotions or disturb your peace, it’s time to reevaluate their place in your home. Surround yourself with pieces that bring you joy and resonate with your innermost desires. Whether it’s a serene landscape or a vibrant abstract, choose art that nourishes your soul and enhances the positive energy within your space.

5. Broken or Damaged Items:

Broken or damaged items in your home can act as physical manifestations of neglect and stagnation. From chipped mugs to noisy appliances, these seemingly minor imperfections can weigh heavily on your psyche, impacting your overall well-being. Take stock of every room in your home and address any broken, damaged, torn, stained, chipped, or cracked items promptly. By fixing what’s broken, you’re not just restoring order to your living space—you’re also signaling to the universe your readiness to invite abundance and prosperity into your life.

By letting go of these five items, you’re not just decluttering your home—you’re also decluttering your mind and spirit. Embrace the opportunity to create a space that nurtures your growth, fosters positivity, and supports your journey towards a healthier, happier life.

Kylie’s deeply intuitive and gentle healing supported me with pain from an old injury in a profound way. Kylie was attentive and in tune with what I needed. I felt heard and respected by her. The healing session tended to my physical injury but also to some emotional injury I was carrying. I left the session noticing immediate change... Since the session I am enjoying feeling stronger and more balanced in my life. Thank you Kylie."

Five star all round! I cannot recommend Kylie Fleur enough... the things holding me back were parental issues, self doubt, acceptance, betrayal, animosity towards others, pain and suffering... Later on that day, I tried to ponder on all my usual worries and nothing came to mind. I had deep rooted issues that were released and I couldn't believe it! I surrendered to her power and I feel a million bucks. I cannot thank her enough"

Pettania

Our 5 year old child has a large, painful birthmark, he was in constant, nagging pain, requiring painkillers 2-3x a week to get through his school day so we were hopeful something/anything could be done. He had just one healing, and weeks following he had no more pain... Its literally a miracle! Moving on, its been 3+ months and our child has had ZERO pain medication since his treatment with Kylie. She's a wonder and so is the work she does... It works. It really, really does!"

Sarah

I went to Kylie for Bio-Energy Healing to reduce neck and shoulder tension and a prolonged discomfort in one of my feet (Plantar Fibroma). There was a vast improvement post-treatment and the issue with my foot has not caused me grief since, now 18 months on... It was a pain free, non-invasive experience but a powerful one that got me some 'unexplainable' results... The powers of Kylie's healing is very real"
