My mission is not to teach educators how to do their jobs, but rather to support them in their own artistic development, by opening their minds to a new way of seeing, and through this they will be more confident and effective in their methods for teaching Art to our children.
After talking with a number of early childhood and primary educators, I have learned that there is a common struggle with finding the most effective way to teach art. My concern is that educators who are not confident with their own artistic ability can negatively influence the art of their own students. Therefore, educators of all stages of their careers need to be provided with training in relation to the art.
That’s where I can help.
“Art Works For Kids” Seminar Workshop
This seminar/workshop is very interactive and will focus on three main areas:
Break old drawing habits
Develop an understanding of how an artist sees the world. Change your way of seeing. Draw more ‘truthfully’. Foster this vision in children. Start showing children how to see and draw with more awareness
Self-expression and colour
Introduction to the therapeutic value of Art and the meaning of colour. Encourage children to express feelings and ideas, and to stretch beyond their boundaries. Learn to appreciate the nature in which a child creates.
“Art Works For Kids” Discussion
How to respond to children’s artistry and how to guide them. Aid children in learning to appreciate their own creativity.
Due to the unique nature of this seminar/workshop (being very interactive), spaces are limited to 12 people maximum to allow for individual attention.
